The sun beat down on me. Hard. Everyone was praying for a slight breeze. Everyone except me. What they did not know was that it was windy. The wind just brought us more heat.It was a Friday after school and I had walked to the park. I flung my backpack on the rusty bench and chased after the slow rolling tide of the hidden river. My hands ran over the hard, ragged laces of my sneakers. with a big tug, my sneakers were slanted on the rocky dirt and my feet were dipped in the luxurious heaven called "water". My shorts and tank top were still too heavy against the hard weather. My hands reached down to the heaven and picked up a cold cloud. I took this cloud and splashed it against my face. It trickled down my neck and stained my chest with a small, temporary stain. I looked up to see a boy with brown hair staring at me. It was my crush.
To look up and see his soft eyes lay on my wet face felt magical. His hair draping over his eyes adding contrast to the light blue, his hair containing a golden highlight. I stepped out of the river. My feet came in contact with the soil and soon got all dirty and crusty. I went over to the monkey bars. The dark, red bars were warm against my hand but I didn't mind. I peeked across the other side and saw him again, his hands mimicking my hand position. I climbed up to the second bar, so did he. I started moving up and so did he. We kept going on until we both reached the middle bars. Our faces were inches away from one another. I reached to the bar behind him so we wouldn't crash when we were both on the same bar. He reached out his hand too. Since he was completely mimicking me on the other bars, I assumed he would do the same. Instead, he reached his hand over to mine and blocked it from contacting the bar behind him. "No...," he whispered, directing my hand over back to where it first was. Now, he lifted up his hand. He lightly held my chin, turned my head slightly and slowly, then kissed my right cheek. All of the sudden, he dropped on to the ground. I dropped to, still feeling the warm wet kiss, adding more warmth to my body along with the weather. He grabbed his backpack and fled.
